College Football's "Original" Bottom 25 Poll, Week 13, 2025

A view of the Corps of Cadets at Michie Stadium, home of the Army Black Knights

The 25 had 4 winners last week, leading to 3 teams, Wisconsin, Stanford and New Mexico State dropping out of the poll and into the DHM. Nevada also won, but with just three wins, they could only fall as far as #25. South Alabama and Tulsa from the DHM also both won, completely dropping out altogether. The Sports Thinker was in the stadium to see Tulsa take down Army, who, quite frankly, blew the game. But it was still a beautiful game day, even if the outcome was disappointing for my favorite adopted home state team.

Stanford's win in their annual Big Game over California actually pushed the athletic department at Cal to show head coach Justin Wilcox the door, despite his 6-5 record this season for the bowl eligible Bears.

Of note is that I am posting this poll a day later than is my preference, and thus Tuesday night games were played, including one involving a 25er. The results of those games are NOT included in this week's poll. As always, enjoy the games....

1) Massachusetts (0-11) The Minute - Men lost the first of two consecutive Tuesday night games close out 2025, at Ohio 42-14. Thankfully, the season ends for them two days before Thanksgiving with a home Bummer Bowl against Bowling Green.

2) Charlotte (1-10) The 24.5ers naturally got blasted at Georgia, 35-3. The team will travel a further 8 hours by road southwest to close out 2025 at Tulane.

3) Georgia State (1-10) Except for the opponent and venue, the Panters 31-19 loss at Troy was almost a carbon copy to their previous most recent loss to Marshall. The 2025 season comes to a merciful close this coming weekend at 8-3 Old Dominion.

4) Oklahoma State (1-10) The Cowtoys are now at ten straight losses after falling 17-14 at UCF. Iowa State visits on Saturday to finish up 2025.

5) Boston College (1-10) The Fleagles finally had a BYE one week before their final 2025 game at B25 #22 Syracuse in an ACC Bummer Bowl.

6) UTEP (2-9) The Minors were outscored 10-7 in the 4th quarter, dropping a home Bummer Bowl New Mexico State, 34-31. Next up is a long cross-country trip to Delaware to finish the 2025 season.

7) Colorado State (2-9) Five straight losses now for the Lambs after a 49-21 shearing at Boise State. Next up is the Ram-Falcon Trophy rivalry game against Air Force, which this year is also a home Mountain West Bummer Bowl for the Lambs.

8) Arkansas (2-9) After 5 straight losses by a combined 19 points, the Dazerbacks finally got smacked around, losing 52-37 at nationally ranked Texas. Next is the Battle Line Rivalry game against Missouri to end the 2025 campaign.

9) Sam Houston (2-9) The Fearkats lost a CUSA Bummer Bowl at Middle Tennessee State, getting thumped 31-17. FIU visits to finish out the 2025 season.

10) Purdue (2-9) The Shotandabeers were another team with a very late BYE before the season ending Old Oaken Bucket rivalry game against national #2 Indiana coming up this weekend.

11) Oregon State (2-9) The Greavers also had a BYE week. Next is this season’s game number 2 against Washington State, this time on the road. Will the PAC2 end in a tie?

12) Middle Tennessee State (2-9) The Blue Raiders finally got a win after 7 straight losses, 31-17 over former B25 #1 Sam Houston. Next is a visit to New Mexico State for a CUSA (almost) Bummer Bowl to finish off the 2025 campaign.

13) San Jose State (3-8) The (Paul) Blart-ans close out the season with two rivalry games in a row. They lost the first one, the El Camino Real game at San Diego State, 25-3. Next, to end the 2025 skein, Fresno State visits for The Battle of The Valley game.

14) UAB (3-8) The Lazyers got stampeded at home by the Bulls of the University of South (really West) Florida, 48-18. Next, Tulsa, winners of two in a row, host the Lazyers to finish 2025 for both.

15) Virginia Tech (3-8) The Jokies were doubled up, 34-17, by visiting Miami. Next is the Commonwealth Clash rivalry game at Virginia.

16) Louisiana- Monroe (3-8) The MarHawks took a 31-14 loss at Texas State before their annual Battle of the Bayou Rivalry game at Louisiana this weekend to close out the 2025 season.

17) Air Force (3-8) The Failcons were nearly shut out by New Mexico at home, 20-3. Next up is the Lamb-Failcon Trophy rivalry game at Colorado State, which also happens to be a Mountain West Bummer Bowl.

18) Michigan State (3-8) The Fartans played it close, falling at home 20-17 against Iowa. Next up, Maryland visits on Saturday to end 2025 for both.

19) Florida (3-8) The Hators got snapped at home by Tennessee, 31-11. Next up, they host the Sunshine Showdown Rivalry game against Florida State….GOOOOO ‘NOLES!!!!!!

20) UCLA (3-8) The ‘Ruins were mauled 48-14 at home by the Washington Huskies. The 2025 season comes to a close as they battle cross town and nationally ranked rivals, USC, for the Victory Bell.

21) Bowling Green (3-8) The Failcons #2 were beaten 19-16 at home Tuesday against Akron. Next up, B25 #1 UMass hosts to close out 2025 for each team.

22) Syracuse (3-8) Since beating Clemson in game 4, the Puce have spent the next 7 weeks getting stomped, most recently at Our Lady, 70-7. Next is a season ending home ACC Bummer Bowl against Boston College.

23) Colorado (3-8) The Beefaloes were tined by the Fork nation, falling 42-17 at home to Arizona State. Next up, the season ender at Kansas State.

24) Northern Illinois (3-8) The Fusskies are back in after a 35-19 Tuesday MAC Special home loss to Western Michigan. Next up is one last 2025 home game, hosting former 25ers Kent State on Friday.

25) Nevada (3-8) The Wolfpack have now won two in a row, after riding the Wyoming Cowboys 13-7 at Laramie. In a moribund season, that is a positive development heading into their big rivalry game, The Battle for the Fremont Cannon, in which Nevada plays host to UNLV next Saturday.

DISHONORABLE MENTION: Eastern Michigan (4-7), Kent State (4-7), Ball State (4-7), Maryland (4-7), Florida Atlantic (4-7), North Carolina (4-7), West Virginia (4-7), Maryland (4-7), Liberty (4-7) and Wyoming (4-7)

Dropped Out: South Alabama, Tulsa, New Mexico State, Wisconsin and Stanford
